Serge

Once in a couple of months I try to paint or to draw my boyfriend. He works as a proof of progress in art for me. On my first drawings he looked like an alien, with eyes pointing in different directions and nose, falling on one side. My recent portraits of Serge are getting better, but I still far from reality. Here is my most recent painting of him, oil on canvas 40X60cm. It is not finished yet, I still have to work on his back and hair, but face is mostly done. What do you think?
And here is the first stage of this painting:

Anger

I am doing portraiture for the uni studio class this year. Trying to experiment with backgrounds and drawing techniques. Here is one of my last portraits in charcoal, red stripes were made with ink. It is interesting how just a few splashes of red give completely different mood to the drawing...

Mount Crawford Forest

This weekend my boyfriend and I had a motorbike ride to Mount Crawford Forest. I had about half an hour to make a small watercolor sketch. The forest is so dense, damp and dark, very unusual for South Australia!
